TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: JC's club head speed remained basically the same however this path did improve from -5.6° two -3.8°. He was cutting across the ball less. Because he came less from the outside and less steep, that allowed him to hit more up on the ball which what we want to see with the driver. He was able to release better as his club face went from being 7.7° open to only 4.9° open at impact. The combination of factors allows him to hit the ball more towards the center of the clubface which increased his ball speed and add an average of 12.4 yards off the tee.

"After working with the Medicus I find that now I have a swing that's more on plane, I rotate my hands more and that's why I make more solid contact. I felt more confident that I could consistently make that swing. Working on it for that short period of time and having the tool to make myself better, that's the whole key. If you have the tool to make yourself better, then you're going to get better. Being a math teacher (referring to the performance lab statistics), that helped me out quite a bit. When I went back into the performance lab, that's what I saw. I analytically have to build that swing in my mind. With the Medicus I don't have to do that. It helps me get through the swing knowing where I'm going to break down, and I can consistently build that new swing. Watching myself on the video in there and seeing my swing was coming outside to in, when I came back outside I knew I had to make a change. The difference was night and day. When I saw the swing path superimposed with the old swing I was taking it up and out coming into the ball versus the new swing path when I took it as the Medicus swing would dictate then come back through making solid contact. That impressed me. After going into the performance lab just making my normal swing, knowing that there had to be a change, through the swing zone I wasn't making a consistent hit, I was coming across the ball. When I came out here and was practicing with the Medicus, I could see that I was coming in with more solid contact on the face of the club. After hitting practice shots and seeing those fly I know that I had achieved something. Going back into the lab I saw that I had a different swing plane now. And I didn't have to manipulate the club to hit a good shot. It brought the club back to a solid impact point and I wasn't cutting across the ball. I was hitting it square and could close that club face. Then working with the Medicus, I saw a more consistent, more repeatable golf swing. I think I should be down to a two or three handicap from a five real quick. I think anybody that doesn't want to use it, has not got their golf game in mind. They're just hitting balls. I think that the accomplished player that wants to hit more consistent shots, I think with the Medicus they can do that and improve their game to where their shot making is something that they can use on the golf course all the time. Just from the 15 minutes I spent working here and going into the lab, working with it and going back in, I saw the my golf swing had changed." - JC Barb
