"Ten minutes later I'm inside and I have improved ball distance and accuracy, which is terrific!"
Name: Ted Ellison
Location: Laguna Niguel, CA
Handicap: 18
Years Playing: 40
TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: Ted's club speed went from 92.9 to 96.7 mph, because his tempo was a lot better. He had a much smoother take away and his transition was much better. His swing path did not change much. He was coming from the inside and stayed there, which is obviously a good position. His upward path did however change, closer to how a tour player would attack the ball and therefore his strike moved away from the heel and closer to the center of the club face. He released the club better, which is also a result of better tempo, with the clubface closing which equates to more distance.

"My club face remained open almost 4 and after a few minutes of practice using the Medicus, I got down to about 1.3°. My club head speed and ball speed actually increased too. I've got really good proof. I have a CD that shows my swing and it shows the statistics of the improvement that I have. It was measured. Ten minutes later I'm inside and I have improved ball distance and accuracy, which is terrific."

"I think I gained about 30 yards!"
Name: David Cash
Location: Yorba Linda, CA
Handicap: 18
Years Playing: 15
TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: David's club head speed remained the same. His swing path came less from outside to in and therefore he was cutting across the ball less. He started hitting up on the ball better, going from a negative number to a positive number. He closed the club head better and released it more through impact. He also started striking the ball more towards the center of the club face. The combination of a better swing path, upward path and center strike allowed him to average an additional 12 yards off the tee.

"After practicing with the Medicus I showed great improvement with my path and trajectory of the club head, closing the face better. I got even more power, without as much spin on the ball giving me an overall improvement in distance. I think I gained about 30 yards."

"You can make it work with a really small amount of work."
Name: Brant Sarber
Location: Coronado, CA
Handicap: 12
Years Playing: 25
TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: Brant marginally increased his club head speed and his swing path moved more inside, maybe a little bit too much inside. His strike pattern on the club face went from mixed to more of a center strike. His angle of attack to the ball was also better. These factors combined to add 10 mph of ball speed and an incredible average of an additional 30 yards off the tee.

"We went inside and looked at some things I was doing and could easily see that I was going way straight up and wasn't able to follow through at all. I was taking the club way too far back and getting flat and it didn't allow me to follow through or get my wrists through. Practicing with the Medicus you could just tell where you need to be. Coming back through, I was not breaking it at all now. You can see the difference in my swing. You know what you need to do to improve by looking at what the Medicus is doing. That's what I think is the cool thing about the Medicus. Comparing the swing that I had when I first went in to the swing analysis, then coming out here and working for such a short period of time and then going back inside, you can see the proof that they show you. You can make it work with a really small amount of work."

Name: Jim Johnson
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Handicap: 22
Years Playing: 25
TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: Jim increased his average club head speed by 5 mph. He came a little bit more inside on his swing path, but it's better to be inside than outside and over the top. His up path, the angle into the ball, remained similar, but slightly improved. His face angle also remained the same.

"A brief synopsis, it's all about weight transfer. It's right there, it's in the computer, it's on the screen and it's also in your feel, the weight transfer, hitting the ball more solid. Getting around and through the ball, which before I wasn't. There's no question that when you see it on screen and you see what you're doing, you have the visual in your head and you can transfer that, which I think you can take to the golf course. It was a short period of time but you got the visual scientific proof, you're wired up in you're either doing it or you're not doing it. I added distance and that sounds good. (Referring to hitting the ball more squarely) Your scores have to come down."

"I could see it was my position at the top, using the mechanism on this club and it would help me get the feel as to where I need to be."
Name: Ron Kimura
Location: Rancho Sante Fe, CA
Handicap: 13
Years Playing: 10
TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: Ron's club head speed increased slightly. His swing path and up path basically remained the same. He released the club better by two and a half degrees which helped keep his ball from fading to the right; therefore he hit the ball straighter.

"What happened the second time is that I increased my club head speed and I could see dramatically the various pushes and hooks. I could graphically see what was causing my misses. I could see it was my position at the top, using the mechanism on this club and it would help me get the feel as to where I need to be. The difference was dramatic, first of all, from the standpoint of actually seeing what is causing your misses. Typically you have no idea what's causing you to hit the ball right or left and it's frustrating not having a clue why. What is amazing about the analysis is that you can see what is causing the mistakes and by utilizing the Medicus it would help me with squaring the club face at the proper moment, to actually allow me to hit squarely on the face."

"After using the Medicus, my change was pretty dramatic."
Name: Byron Davis
Location: Mission Viejo, CA
Handicap: 18
Years Playing: 10
TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: Byron showed a moderate increase in club head speed. Path and up path basically remained the same. His face angle at impact was almost 50% less open, dramatically decreasing his slice, allowing him to hit the ball straighter. As he begins to hit the ball more towards the center of the clubface, he will pick up an additional 5 yards or so off the tee.

"I made huge improvements on my swing plane. After using the Medicus, my change was pretty dramatic. I did some work on closing the club and the data showed that I did do much better on my second set of swings. On the second set of data, pretty much all the shots were hit in the same place on the club face whereas with the first set of swings, you could see the scatter graph all over the club face. I just became much more consistent."

"I increased my swing speed by about 10% and my swing angle (swing plane) improved by 50%
Name: Michael Lo
Location: San Diego, CA
Handicap: 20
Years Playing: 4
TaylorMade Performance Lab Assessment: Michael's club head speed increased by more than 5 mph. He improved his tempo and came less from the outside on his swing path and more towards the inside which also allowed him to increase his club head speed. He struck the ball more on an upward path which was a better impact position. His clubface did remain open through impact position. If he could learn to close the clubface with his new path and added swing speed, he will see a dramatic increase in distance and accuracy.

"In the lab they were able to analyze what's wrong with my swing. I wasn't doing a complete follow-through and my head was open. I was able to improve 50%, seeing it on the technology that they had. After working with the Medicus driver and I was able to improve my face angle and the path of the club by 50%. Using the technology that TaylorMade Labs has, they analyzed it, using all the charts and figures. I was impressed by 50% improvement. Seeing the figures is believing, instead of someone just verbally telling you you've improved. Seeing it scientifically really helps. I'm hoping to lower my scores, I'm hoping to lower my handicap by 50%."

"It was an amazing experience. Learning how your swing was before and then after swinging the Medicus made a world of difference with my swing. You just couldn't ask for anything better than what was accomplished today. I'm closing the face of the club more and actually hitting the ball more squarely on the club face. I noticed that after practicing with the Medicus and went back in for the second test I was rotating my hands over and hitting it more consistently on the club face, to the sweet spot of the club. It made a big difference. "

"It was pretty amazing, when I looked at it afterwards. The Medicus definitely helps you go back slower and steadier. It's going to change my overall score; it's going to be making a difference. My biggest problem and frustration is that I tend to get handsy on some swings and not with others and I didn't understand why that was happening. Seeing the images up there explain that quite nicely."

"The Medicus broke very quick, embarrassingly. The best part about the inside was that I had no idea what I looked like and to see it and not just feel it, it makes it easier to correct what you're doing and not what you think you're doing. Definitely going into the TaylorMade Performance Lab I saw my true swing. It made a huge difference because now I have the confidence that I'm actually doing it right. After a year and a half of not getting the club head in the right position on my drive, now I know I have it and I have the tool to make me repeat it over and over. Now I get to hit the ball in the air instead of topping it. It feels so much better. "

"No doubt, after just a few minutes of doing what I've done and getting that feel of being on plane, I'm looking forward to spending some time with that rascal. When you see it on the screen and it's actually a good swing, scientific evidence that that's how bad it was and this is what it is now, it really gets in your head. It's proof positive that you need to swing the way the Medicus makes you swing. When you're on the practice tee with a club pro, you can just do great. But when you walk off that practice tee from the instructor, tomorrow it's where was I? When you're swinging with your own club you might think you're swinging the way you're swinging with the Medicus, but without the Medicus you just don't know. It's so easy to fool ourselves. Staying on the Medicus swing plane gave me more distance and I love it. I think what enabled me to get the club face square was getting on the right plane with the Medicus swing. I was hooding the club to compensate for a bad swing. It was exciting to see that I could leave it open and hit it straight. I don't need to make those compensations, I just need to hit it properly."

"I swung the Medicus a few times and I thought I had a pretty decent swing but the Medicus told me a slightly different story. After that I went back to the lab and validated the fact that drives that I hit at the end became more ingrained and the face was parallel at the top. In only about 15 minutes I was able to really feel a significant change in my swing. I was able to pull the club back slowly on plane and my top position was so much better. Going into the TaylorMade Performance Lab and actually seeing over 5, 6 or 7 swings that the path was correct, that the inside path was taken and the face was open, I wasn't going to snap hook anything and I could see the side-by-side difference. My body was taught in that short period of time something new and I was able to repeat it. Aside from seeing a video of my swing compared to PGA pro and putting me in position at every moment, I can't imagine anything that's more effective. Going from 108 to 114 miles an hour club head speed, if I can get that consistently dialed in with the Medicus, that would be fantastic. My handicap should go down considerably. If I can consistently get on the tee box and drive the ball straight with a consistent fade, that would be great. My handicap would start to plummet. The TaylorMade Performance Lab was a fantastic addition to the Medicus study because to be able to go in there and look at a 3-D simulation of what your swing looks like from every angle is really neat. Then to see your before and after swings laid over the top of one another and see the difference in your club head and how the shaft was coming in from the inside. I think the TaylorMade Performance Lab made a huge impact on how I saw this."
